WE'RE BACK!!!

...Like that pesky itch. :) Well, we've been married for a while now and we're still going strong. Who knew?! Ha! (I did) Anyway, I (Gina) thought this would be a great way for people to catch up with us easier (I said "I" because I'm sure it will be me posting, just like signing greeting cards). We're ALWAYS on the go. Currently Lewis is working as an RN and he finished his BSN, hoping to soon start the CRNA program?! I'm in my last year for my BS in PoliSci, taking my LSAT's in December, taking LSAT tutoring right now, this is my last week for teaching poll workers before the election, drafting a bill regarding handicap parking, and the usual. So spare time is a rare commodity around here. I just thought with this blog we can share some fun times! With Halloween coming we're prepping my costume as __________. It's a surprise! ALSO, the SF Giants are in the world series and 2 games ahead!!!!!! Game 3 is tomorrow! Let's go Giants! Hopefully this will become the most enjoyable random blog you'll ever read! Toodles!

Wednesday:
Bachelor/Bachelorette Party for all the young party animals!
Meet at the rental home in Las Sendas at 5:00pm for appetizers
Load Party Bus at 6:00pm (DO NOT BE LATE)
Return at 10:00pm

Thursday:
"Rehearsal" Dinner for wedding party at 6:30pm at Vito's

Friday:
WEDDING starting at 5:00pm, PLEASE arrive 30 minutes early to allow for parking, being driven over in the golf cart, and seating.

Saturday:
Ms. Wheelchair Arizona Pageant at 1:00pm in Phoenix at the Phoenix Library.
BBQ to follow pageant, location to be announced. We're hoping the house will be ready by then!

When I haven't posted this month! I've been pretty busy getting everything together! Although one thing is coming along fabulously... THE PIZZA OVEN! Yes, a wood burning pizza oven in the back! I'm so excited! The house however, is running behind... Not good. Pray that they'll get on top of things. On a good note, we are so lucky we didn't do the wedding this weekend, it's raining! Friday is supposed to be sunny, let's just hope it's not windy! Well, we'll be seeing you all very soon! Watch for posts soon to give you important information.

So as some of you know, as part of his school semester Lewis has been working with a local homeless program. Well, we were talking and I was asking him about their supplies, he said they are pretty good on everything except socks. So that got us thinking about picking up socks to take, but I thought it would be great if we could donate some from the wedding crew. I know it's expensive to come out to Arizona for some of you, and by no means should anyone feel obligated to bring socks. However, if you choose to we'll have a box at the BBQ the day after the wedding. They mostly need men's socks, but a few women are there. Feel free to bring as few or as many as you like. We really like this program because they give priority and support to those who have gotten jobs and are pursuing jobs. It's about getting them back on their feet, and socks would help.

Those of you in Ohio, I hope you are getting into your summer wardrobes for the wedding. Also, everyone bring your swimsuits.

We did our final walk-through at the farm Wednesday, it made it so real. Marcia and Gary came to see the Farm for the first time, and they loved it. Lew and I followed that with dinner and listing everything we have to do. After we hit page three it became apparent we better get on the ball and we did. Although we took a break last night to go to the Billy Joel vs. Elton John concert!!!! All I can say is... AWESOME!!!! Spring training season will be over the beginning of next week, sad. It was fun while it lasted. Now full on wedding and house mode. Speaking, well writing of the house, it's coming along. Slowly but surely. All the flooring is out and some walls broken down. They are putting up the drywall today. We can't wait to get the ball rolling and decorate the place. Hope everyone is getting excited and gearing up for the trip!

Last night we went to a tasting at the farm. We got to try all the food that will be served at the wedding. All I can say is, come hungry! It was amazing and so delicious. We're going to start with hor d'oeuvres, then soup and salad, then the made to order gourmet sliders (mini burgers), and end with more desserts than we can finish. So don't have hamburgers the night before and come with an empty tummy!

Well I haven't posted anything new because there hasn't been much going on. I've been taken down by a cold or allergies, who knows? So I'm taking the day off and just doing homework and wedding stuff. I've been going to every SF Giants home game and for that I have acquired a ridiculous tan line, as pictured above, that I'll be working very hard to eliminate before the wedding. Since my last post I had my dress fitting and boy was that a mess. I got stuck on the freeway making my drive a hour and fifteen minute drive rather than the usually thirty minute drive. They didn't seem to mind, but kept us all waiting for almost two hours. Disaster. We were there for almost three hours. To top it off, I was hungry. On another note, we have an additional little surprise to add to our wedding spoiler hints. Feel free to guess.

The website for the wedding venue is www.thefarmatsouthmountain.com, just in case you're curious. A super heads up on parking, you must park across the street, but an eight passenger golf cart is there to take you back and forth. For those of you in wheelchairs, there will be designated wheelchair parking. I'm so excited for all of you to experience The Farm, it's so beautiful! Now let's just pray for perfect weather! If we could have the same weather as right now, I'd be so happy! Lewis and I are preparing for the wedding by enjoying the San Fransisco Giants Spring Training Baseball! Although, I'm not too happy about the farmer's tan and watch tan line I got from yesterday! I'll have to work on that before the wedding!

Wedding Attire

I realized that a heads up on "what to wear" may be nice. Well, number one, be comfortable! The wedding is not formal, so no tuxedos guys. :) Considering we can only hope for the best regarding weather, I would recommend something that is "warm friendly" and can be covered if it's too cool. Chances are it would be warmer than cooler, considering we're already in the 80's! Ladies, since the ceremony location is in a very cleaned up pecan grove (as pictured at the top), I highly recommend you don't wear stilettos. Flats or wedges would be perfect. Sundresses are more than dressy enough for you ladies and a polo or button up shirt is just fine for you guys. Also, the wedding colors are a lighter blue and pastel yellow, a bit lighter than the two outfits in the picture. :) But like I said, we want everyone to be comfortable so you could come in jeans and nobody would think anything otherwise!

Well the invites have been sent and we're looking forward to hearing who will be joining us on our exciting day! The planning train has been on track for a bit now. The menu is practically finished, just the terrible task of tasting left. We're hoping you will all enjoy the yummies we have planned! The details are coming together and we'll post all the little extra info you need soon! For all of you coming from out of town and looking for a place to stay I strongly recommend looking at http://www.vrbo.com/! Mesa, Tempe, North Gilbert, and Ahwatukee are great towns to stay in and are conveniently located! Thanks to the great freeway system, most of the areas are easily accessible to all the events we have planned! Speaking of events, just a heads up, Saturday we are planning a BBQ/Taco night after the Ms. Wheelchair AZ pageant (that I would love for you to attend) where I'm relinquishing my crown. More to come!
